My facebook live feed came up trumps yesterday when I stumbled upon the delightful image of one of my lovely friends photographer Miss Stephanie Gibson ready to pedal around Glasgow in honour of Harris Tweed. Taking place in cities around the world including London, New York and Tokyo The Harris Tweed Ride came to Glasgow yesterday in celebration of the historic cloth. Stephanie had the ride of her life on the £10 ticket enjoying eatables and drinkables on the way finishing at the 5* Blythswood Square for the closing party.
And so to the details Stephanie’s outfit perfect for the occasion a fusion of vintage and high street from across the globe including a New Look cape perfectly teamed with a two piece bought from the vintage emporium Starry Starry Night in Glasgow’s West End. The hat from Mr Ben Glasgow customised with Harris Tweed off-cuts sent direct from the Outer Hebrides in honour of the occasion matched the hand-made bunting decorating Steph’s beloved Pashley Princess Sovereign bicycle. Killer block heels from Office may not be the best footwear for a Sunday cycle but style over function was necessary for this outing. A bit of ebay luck provided the Harris Tweed bargain hand bag and the finishing touch some handmade Piumelli gloves all the way from Italy perfectly stylish cycling yes!
