Timeless Pieces

Watching the slushy gushy romcom You’ve Got Mail for perhaps the thousandth time I revelled in the gorgeous simplicity that is Meg Ryan’s wardrobe in the flick. Her hair of course was the main focus in this film and was copied by many Meg-a likes. For me however the classic pieces she wore were absolute perfection and to this day she still looks modern and stylish in the film.

This love for Meg’s classic style was also in the forefront of my mind when viewing Margaret Howell’s AW 2011 collection during my online perusal of LFW. I love the preppy, school uniform, slightly androgynous feel to the collection. Every piece wearable, classic and oh so timeless. Collections such as for me are unforgettable for different reasons of course to the more artistic and avant garde shows on display. Classics are always memorable these are the pieces we turn to for comfort and on those what-to-wear moments when the contents of our wardrobes lie scattered across our rooms. I have edited the following images in such a way as to imagine Meg’s perfect head and hair atop and I am sure you will agree it would not be out of place!
