Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Tis Christmas Eve when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse the kids are sleeping supper is finished and I have a very large glass of mulled wine in my hand. This is when I feel content presents are wrapped, plans are made and it’s too late in the day to do anything about forgotten essentials all that is left to do is to eat, drink and be merry. To make my eve complete I always join James Stewart and Donna Reed in It’s a Wonderful Life. Festive films play a major role in my yuletide preparations Meet Me in St Louis is a must see with the kids, they now know it so well they act out scenes for our entertainment. From Miracle on 34th Street both the old and newer versions to the more modern classics Polar Express, The Santa Clause and The Grinch all are essential viewing before Santa arrives.

I have always been inspired by the styles and fashion in old movies the glorious technicolour makes everything seem so bold and beautiful while black and white gives styles a timeless edge. This post has been inspired by my favourite festive films I have had great fun finding styles to inspire from the current season. I hope you enjoy these inspirational images and take the time to snuggle up with your loved ones and have yourself a merry little Christmas time.
