Dior Illustrated:René Gruau and the Line of Beauty

This post comes courtesy of a good friend that had the glamourous task of attending the Dior Illustrated: René Gruau and the Line of Beauty Private View Cocktail Party in the Embankment Galleries of Somerset House this week. This new exhibition is a celebration of the renowned illustrator René Gruau. Gruau created some of the most iconic fashion and beauty images of the 20th century including many illustrations for Christian Dior Parfums. His career spans many decades and he has worked with all of the most influential names in fashion including Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain, Rochas and of course Dior. This exhibition runs from 10th November 2010 – 9th January 2011 at Somerset House, London and will certainly be a must have for lovers of fashions past and present. The following images were captured at the Cocktail Party and I am sure they will whet your appetite and leave you yearning for more enjoy…

  2. Ritournelle says:

Oh I wish I could see this one! I visited Dior’s childhood home last summer and Gruau’s illustrations were shown in the garden.
